::FWL Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities

Emerging women leaders can put their learnings and skills into action through leadership opportunities with Future Women Leaders. As an all-volunteer organization, FWL relies on volunteer leaders for its existence and continuation, and many kinds of hands-on opportunities are available to our members.  Please contact us at outreach@futurewomenleaders.net for more information on volunteering or becoming involved!

Officer Team

The officer team is the heart of FWL, providing leadership, vision, drive, and actualization to FWL and its mission, thus serving the greater community of Bay Area young women. Serving on the officer team is a unique leadership opportunity through which young professional women can hone their skills as community leaders and gain hands-on experience in leadership and their respective functional area. In addition, serving as an officer affords one unique opportunities to collaborate with other “rising stars” in the officer team as well as established leaders in the larger community. Officers are mentored individually by the board of directors. Many officers are graduates from the LDP or active members who capitalize on this opportunity as an officer to put their own emerging leadership talents into action while giving back to the local community. Officers are requested to make a one year minimum commitment.

Steering Committees

FWL has several volunteer steering committees that are devoted to a specific program or event, including the Gala Dinner committee and the LDP committee. Committee volunteers serve in a substantial but focused leadership role, and the time and length of commitment varies by committee. We are currently recruiting members for the Gala committee - contact us at events@futurewomenleaders.net if you are interested.

Newsletter, Events, and Other Volunteers

Members who would like to get more involved, but cannot make the sustained commitment of serving as an officer or committee member are welcome to volunteer on an event- or project-specific basis. For example: planning or hosting a specific event or happy hour, writing a profile or other text for the newsletter, or providing in-kind donations of event space or refreshments.

Supporting FWL

FWL is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization – donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. As an all-volunteer organization, FWL is able to use the vast majority of support to directly support our programs and events. We welcome general contributions, as well as program-specific donations (including scholarships for memberships or leadership programs). In addition, we gladly accept in-kind donations of meeting space, refreshments, and supplies.
